Ever since road tripping USA in a Dodge Caravan, we’ve only wanted to downsize and live nomadically. As much as we love travelling we’re also extreme homebodies, so having comfortable little homes we could take anywhere became our thing. Cruising the open road with the bare essentials absolutely frees the soul.

The Jah Bus
1986 Hino PMC School Bus
Ahhh The Jah Bus. This was our first build and definitely the most involved by far . . . why do we always throw ourselves right in the deep end?! Our goal with the bus was to have a comfortable, fully functioning ‘apartment’ on wheels that we could take anywhere. I think it’s safe to say we achieved that pretty well!

1992 Toyota Hiace Super GL 4WD
We just couldn’t believe our luck when we drove past Larry sitting in a car yard on the side of the road. Goose had taken one of his famous wrong turns and there he was! At the time, this was our dream van and certainly the reason for our obsession with Japanese 4wd vans. Larry’s story is all sunshine and rainbows though . . .
Kas
1993 Toyota Hiace Super Custom 4WD
We have a bit of a love/hate relationship with ‘ol Kas. Being our most recent build, we felt the functionality of the interior was refined from the small niggles we had with past set ups. Unfortunately the mechanical side wasn’t the most reliable and we ended up stranded on the West Coast with a van that didn’t want to move.

In 2021, we made the decision to build out our 1991 Toyota Hiace to be rented out - so you guys get to have a taste of this lifestyle! We’ve seen him head out on plenty of adventures and we’re proud to have created a fit-out that our guests love!
