LIFE ON THE ROAD. TRAVEL. PHOTOGRAPHY.
The Jah Bus
1986 Hino PMC School Bus
We tackled the biggest project first. ‘What were we thinking?!’ is definitely still a question we ask ourselves today. After 18 months of blood, sweat and a lot of tears we managed to turn an old 40 seater school bus into a fully functioning off grid tiny home. We learned A LOT during this process and are extremely proud of what we were able to create.
Larry
1992 Toyota Hiace Super GL 4WD
Our first van upon moving back home to New Zealand. Larry was a little out of our price range but we bit the bullet and grabbed him. Little did we know this was the start of our unhealthy obsession with 4WD Japanese vans. Featuring a turntable to jam our old vinyl records on, the fit out of Larry was unique and functional.
Kas
1993 Toyota Hiace Super Custom 4WD
Being our most recent build, Kas’ fit out was refined from everything we had learned from our previous builds. It was however the smallest van we’ve built which came with it’s own restrictions and compromises. We loved the small time we lived and travelled in this van, but after having some expensive gearbox issues and finding a van for sale we never thought we’d see in person, Kas went off to her new owners.
THE JAH BUS.
Two crazy kids decided to buy a 12 metre yellow school bus and turn it into their home on wheels. We documented the ups and downs of the full conversion in our YouTube Build Series.
